โœฆ Synopsis

computer dialogues and man-man dialogues. The transaction of linguistic information between the user, equipment and environment via alphanumeric displays (TOTEs) is described. Particular attention is paid to the need for user-centred job designs, and examples of approaches to be taken during job design are given. Design ground rules for alpha-numeric status display formats and their associated man-computer dialogue are given along with suggestions concerning their implementation. Finally, there is some discussion on how particular ground rules might be applied in a number of hypothetical cases.
