✦ Synopsis

Self-associated alcohols are studied in solution down to liquid nitrogen tempeiature. :t is found that the fundamentalxnd first overtone shift linearly and by the same amount with temperature and that anharmonicity decreases with decreasing temperature. The band width also decreases and only-one band remains, having a normal shape. The results are interpretable in terms of a statistical distkibution of 0 . _ .O distances.
