✦ Synopsis

The X-ray structural analyses reveal that the title complex contains the Mn(saloph) [saloph = N,N%-O-phenylenebis(salicylideneaminato)] moieties bridged by single acetato groups in an anti -anti configuration to form linear polymer chains. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements (4.7-270 K) show the occurrence of very weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the Mn(III) ions with J = -1.32 cm -1 and D= -0.72 cm -1 .
