✦ Synopsis
A kinetic system is described comprising four consecutive reactions with two simultaneous parallel second-order reactions between diverse intermediates and one parallel reaction between the initial substance and one intermediate. The reactions take place in a continuously stirred tank reactor. Using appropriate rate constants, regions can be identified in which three positive real roots of the stationary concentration exist, and concentration oscillations on the thermodynamic branch can occur.
