Throughout the book the author uses assumed distributions of current in variational expressions to determine the impedances of antennas. Where the "trial currents" are known from measurements or other solutions to be good approximations, the calculated impedances can be accepted with confidence. In the many instances in which the "trial currents" are unverified assumptions justified only by ambiguous and unconvincing arguments, the resulting impedances cannot be considered dependable. It is perhaps EI fair question to ask whether investigations that depend primarily and critically on the application of a particular method should be included in a book before the possible limitations of that method have been clarified in a quantitative sense.
