✦ Synopsis
Klaus Biemann has helped shape many aspects of the Ðeld of modern mass spectrometry. This paper reviews and comments on some of his innovative contributions to gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) during the 1960s and 1970s with particular emphasis on the molecular separator, a comprehensive plan for the acquisition and processing of GC/MS data and the application of GC/MS to the analysis of drugs in emergency cases. 1998
