✦ Synopsis
A high flow rate low pressure safety valve with a teble-tennis ball seating on a neoprene O-ring has been successfully fabricated and used on the intake and exhaust lines of a 4He transfer pump. This gas-tight valve opens at differential pressures less than 0.5 kN m -2 and allows 4 He gas flow rates exceeding 150 NTP 1 min -1 and at differentia/pressures less than 7 kNm -2.
