✦ Synopsis

for the effect of particle-liquid slip on a homogeneous food flow has been extended to the case of heterogeneous flows. It has been used to model a stratified flow through a combination of a heating and holding tube over a range of process conditions: flows where velocity differences are minimised appear best in terms of minimal process time. More data on the behaviour of real flows are needed.

## Abstract Anisotropy and heterogeneity of hydraulic conductivity (__K__) are seldom considered in models of mire hydrology. We investigated the effect of anisotropy and heterogeneity on groundwater flow in bog peat using a steady‐state groundwater model. In five model simulations, four sets of __

## SUMMARY Effect of ion‐slip current on the thermal instability in a boundary layer is studied. The criterion on the position marking the onset of longitudinal vortices is defined in the present paper. The results show that the onset position characterized by the Grashof number depends on the Pran
