We have developed a biosensor for the detection of residual triazine-, urea-and phenolic-type herbicides, using isolated photosystem II (PSII) particles from the thermophilic cyanobacterium, Synechococcus elongatus, as biosensing elements. The herbicide detection was based on the fact that, in the p
