In this paper, the dynamical behavior of a shallow arch subjected to periodic excitation with internal resonance is explored in detail. The parametric plane is then divided into di!erent types of regions by the transition boundaries according to the types of the steady state solutions. A time-integr

✦ Synopsis
A geometrically non-linear model of the rotating shaft is introduced, which includes KaH rman non-linearity, non-linear curvature e!ects, large displacements and rotations as well as gyroscopic e!ects. Through applying Timoshenko-type assumptions, the shear e!ects are also included in the model. Convenient matrix descriptions are used in order to facilitate the analysis based on Galerkin and continuation methods. The model is used to analyze the phenomenon of internal resonance. The in#uence of some of the system's parameters on the amplitude and frequency of self-excited vibration is investigated.
