Tris(dimethylaminolphosphine was found to be a suitable thiophilic reagent which converts optically active aZkyZthiofaZkyZseZeno!phosphosphonium salts into chiral tertiary phosphines and phosphinites
with a high stereosetectivity. The first synthesis of opticaZZy active thiophosphinites from bislal-kyZthioiphosphonium salts and trisldimethyZaminolphosphine is also reported.
