✦ Synopsis
seen that the gain could be varied optically instead by electrical means. Further investigations are in progress to rigorously investigate the distributed amplifier and the effect of optical control.
Conclusions
A GaAs FET bandpass distributed amplifier and its optical control have been theoretically estimated, and the variation of gain᎐frequency responses as a function of optically induced plasma density has been clearly observed and compared with variation by electrical bias. Hence, optical irradiation could be used as a terminal to control the gain characteristics of a distributed amplifier.
