✦ Synopsis
This article presents a procedure for the design of bulk acoustic wave (BAW) filters. The procedure consists of optimizing the modified Butterworth-Van Dyke model of each resonator, considering appropriate technological parameters. The approach is demonstrated first to design a classical aluminum nitride-based BAW filter but remains valid for other piezoelectric layers, considering either longitudinal or transverse acoustic wave coupling. The approach is finally applied to the design of a lithium niobate (LiNbO 3 ) BAW filter for wide-band filtering applications. V

## Abstract This article presents a number of general equations for the primary design and evaluation of a stack of two bulk acoustic wave resonators, a structure traditionally known as a stacked crystal filter. The reported equations are validated against the work of other authors, finding a very
The virial theorem for molecules is shown to have two different forms, one employing the energy gradient the other involving the Hellmann-Feynman force. While the former VT can be fulfilled by a uniform scaling of the basis set, the latter cannot be satisfied in certain basis sets, and can give unre
A new method is proposed for the optimum design of nailed soil slopes. A rigorous method of stability analysis, namely the Janbu's method, is modified in the limit equilibrium formulation, considering the effect of reinforcement. Only the tensile resistance of the reinforcement is included and the e
