Cure rate estimation is an important issue in clinical trials for diseases such as lymphoma and breast cancer and mixture models are the main statistical methods. In the last decade, mixture models under different distributions, such as exponential, Weibull, log-normal and Gompertz, have been discus

β¦ Synopsis
The assessment of mixture e β ects is usually done with isoboles which illustrate whether mixture e β ects are greater or smaller than would be expected on the basis of the individual activities of the herbicides. Under the assumption of similarity of response curves and by incorporating a function that can model the shape of isoboles, we can statistically test whether divergence from the Additive Dose Model (ADM) is signiΓcant. Two dose-response experiments with mixtures of either salt or ester formulations of MCPA and mecoprop-P and one experiment with tribenuron-methyl and mecoprop-P were analysed. Mixtures of tribenuron-methyl and a salt formulation of mecoprop-P showed antagonism. Mixtures of salt formulations of MCPA and mecoprop-P followed ADM, whilst ester formulations of the same compounds showed synergism. To get reliable estimates, the model requires mixture ratios covering the whole isobole 1998 SCI

A general kinetic framework to study epoxy polymerization is developed. Best-fit values of five rate constants are obtained using some experimental chromatographic data available in the open literature on a system involving a single liquid phase. Detailed sensitivity studies are then carried out to
According to the characteristic structural features of jointed rock structures, a meshless model is proposed for the mechanics analysis of jointed rock structures based on the moving least-squares interpolants. In this model, a jointed rock structure is regarded as a system of relatively intact rock
