✦ Synopsis


A general equation is presented for the determination of the dynamic contact angle of a sample with disc geometry of radius, (r), and thickness, (t). Knowledge of depth of immersion, (d), and the meniscus height above that of the liquid level, (D), are the only other requirements. The use of the equation enables the contact angle across the whole of the sample, and at any one depth, to be determined. (1993 Academic Press, Inc.
