β¦ Synopsis
Given a fuzzy finite state machine M = (Q, Z, y), a fuzzy closure operator is defined which induces a Lowen-type fuzzy topology z in Q. The concepts of separation of fuzzy subsystems and connectedness of fuzzy finite state machines are developed. Some results on connectedness and weak connectedness of fuzzy subsystems are obtained. Characterizations of these concepts in terms of the fuzzy topology are also obtained.

In this paper we introduce a parameterized real-valued measure of the mean dispersion of a fuzzy random variable with respect to an arbitrary fuzzy number. This measure extends the second moment of a classical random variable, and is based on a parameterized distance between fuzzy numbers. Propertie
