β¦ Synopsis
The newly coined term intelligent control refers both to the control design approach or philosophy and to implementation techniques that emulate certain characteristics of intelligent systems. Intelligent control as a discipline owes much to soft computing. The techniques associated with intelligent control include fuzzy control systems. Some intelligent control strategies rely heavily on the use of fuzzy controls. For example, fuzzy systems find their use in automating the perceptual, cognitive, and action-taking characteristics of humans who perform industrial control tasks. In this paper, a fuzzy adaptive control technique for time-varying intelligent systems is discussed. The application of the technique include an example in agriculture.

In bandsaw machines, it is desired to feed the bandsaw blade into the workpiece with an appropriate feeding force in order to perform an efficient cutting operation. This can be accomplished by controlling the feed rate and thrust force by accurately detecting the cutting resistance against the band
In this paper, a new reinforcement learning scheme is developed for a class of serial-link robot arms. Traditional reinforcement learning is the problem faced by an agent that must learn behavior through trial-and-error interactions with a dynamic environment. In the proposed reinforcement learning
