โœฆ Synopsis

SI~MMAI~Y :

On the basis of a creep law formulated in terms of the Tresea criterion, the creep bending of annular plates was analyzed by Venkatraman and Patel (1). The present note considers the solutions presented there for plates with sufciently small holes and sufficiently large holes and quantitatively de~nes the transition from one solution to the other. The note concludes with the correct solution (not properly covered in the reference) to the problem of an annular plate with its inner edge free and outer edge clamped and under uniform lateral pressure.

Their studies showed that the methods were conceptually simple and computationally efficient in c
