This paper studies the system transformation using generalized orthonormal basis functions that include the Laguerre basis as a special case. The transformation of the deterministic systems is studied in the literature, which is called the Hambo transform. The aim of the paper is to develop a transf

✦ Synopsis
In this paper, a two-step frequency-domain identi"cation algorithm is proposed, in which the identi"ed model is parameterized in terms of general orthonormal basis functions. Furthermore an update scheme is presented, where the poles of the basis functions are adjusted iteratively and the convergence properties of this scheme with respect to unknown-but-bounded noise are studied. The algorithm is applied to experimental frequency response data obtained from a compact disk player.

## Abstract In this article, we introduce a new type of Characteristic Basis Finite Element Method (CBFEM), which is based on the concepts of Physical Optics (PO) and Perfectly Matched Layers (PMLs), for solving large‐scale electromagnetic scattering problems in a rigorous and efficient manner. Thi
