The folding model for the 3 He elastic scattering on 12 C is constructed based on the three α-particle model of the nucleus 12 C. This folding model can well describe the differential cross-sections of the 3 He + 12 C elastic scattering in the energy range from 10 to 200 MeV.

✦ Synopsis
The elastic scattering angular distributions for the α + 12 C system at seventeen incident energies between 13 and 172.5 MeV have been analysed by using the folding model based on an αparticle model for the nucleus 12 C. By comparing the theoretical results with the experimental data satisfactory agreement is obtained.
