โฆ Synopsis
A microwave filter realized by combing a recirculating filter based on a fiber Bragg grating (FBG) resonator and a matched two-arm delay line is presented. The proposed configuration can generate a flexible notch filter with a wide flat-top passband, which overcomes the limitations of the filter-transfer-function range of a positiveonly taps system. An incoherent system is employed which avoids the coherent-interference problem of photonic signal processors. The theoretical and experimental results reveal that more than 50% free spectral range can be flattened by this method, and the ripples in the passband are less than 0.5 dB.
