Nanocrystalline Cu 7 Te 4 was directly synthesized by the reaction of CuCl 2 ' 2H 2 O and tellurium in an autoclave with ethylenediamine as solvent at 1603C for 10 h. X-ray powder di4raction patterns, X-ray photoelectron spectra, and transmission electron microscope images show that the products are
