## Abstract magnified image An efficient synthesis of thiocoumestan derivatives, starting from catechols and 4‐mercaptocoumarin in the presence of potassium ferricyanide as an oxidizing agent (Decker oxidation) was developed. The results indicate that the 4‐mercaptocoumarin participates in Michael
