## Abstract Two simple formulae involving only one variable are presented for the simple and rapid estimation of the mean lifetime (Ο„) of exchange in uncoupled, paripartite AB systems. These formulae are shown to provide Ο„ values comparable to those obtained from total line‐shape analysis.
