. A discussion of the relationships between the principal forms of the combination equation for estimating crop evaporation. Agric. Meteorol., 30:111--127.
To assist hydrologists and agronomists in estimating crop evaporation, the relationships between different forms of the combination equation are demonstrated by highlighting the assumptions used in their derivation and their data requirements. It is suggested that there is no formula which is superior in all situations --it is generally a compromise between data requirements and physical reality. By appreciating the assumptions involved, an improved evaluation of the accuracy of the estimate of evaporation in each case can be made.
