In their paper, Berntsson and Chandra make rather emotive conclusions about the influence of calcium chloride on concrete durabillty based on litt]e, If any, substantive evidence. Having just read "The Chloride Scare" by Ted Webster (1), our reaction to the Swedish paper was inevitable.
