The chemoselective reduction of functionalized aromatic compounds into the corresponding anilines is important for the industrial preparation of dyes, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides (see cover picture). The anilines are typically produced by metal-catalyzed reduction of aromatic nitro compounds. In
