✦ Synopsis
Abstract
This article presents a design of a low profile triband antenna operating at three frequency bands (900, 1575, and 1800 MHz). The proposed antenna consists of two curved folded dipoles, a ceramic patch antenna, and a diplexer. Having the proposed antennas uniquely shaped, the total dimension of the structure requires very small space. The antenna shape is designed to improve the overall performance and the spatial efficiency. A diplexer following two folded dipole antennas can transfer the signal by using only one cable and thus, a great portion of the cost required for real application can be reduced. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
