โฆ Synopsis
An analysis of the weighted concentration curve shows that the proper weighting for disperse populations of oarticle sizes varies accord&z to the method of analvsis used in data remession. A eeneral form for the weighting iactor is derived for the i&gral method. Several forms of the weighying factor for diffusion with a surface resistance are shown and the effecr of particle size variations is demonstrated for a sample of Sepharose 6B (Pharmacia).

The rate of burning of wooden dowels injected into the centre of various test fires was determined by direct weighing. The curves giving the rate of burning vs. time of exposure are presented for dowels of length 88.9 mm and diameters ranging from 2.54 mm to 50.8 ram. Five types of wood: birch, oak,
