In Akhiezer's book [``The Classical Moment Problem and Some Related Questions in Analysis, '' Oliver 6 Boyd, EdinburghÂLondon, 1965] the uniqueness of the solution of the Hamburger moment problem, if a solution exists, is related to a theory of nested disks in the complex plane. The purpose of the p
## Abstract We consider an interpolation problem of Nevanlinna–Pick type for matrix‐valued Carathéodory functions, where the values of the functions and its derivatives up to certain orders are given at finitely many points of the open unit disk. For the non‐degenerate case, i.e., in the particular
We ÿrst give a brief summary of the arguments that lead to the conclusion that the use of orthogonal rational functions in system identiÿcation should not be restricted to the Takenaka-Malmquist basis because there are important cases where orthogonality with respect to a certain nonnegative weight
The papers deals with a finite moment problem for rational matrix-valued functions. We present a necessary and sufficient condition for the solvability of the problem. In the nondegenerate case we construct a particular solution which has interesting extremal properties.
