✦ Synopsis
The method of multiple linear regression applied to the spectrophotometric determination of the protonation constants and the molar absortivity coefficient of the monoprotonated species of diprotic acids, is studied critically. The best way of fitting the data, according to the shape of the absorbance vs pa-curve, is established. The conclusions are applied to real systems.
