β¦ Synopsis
Atetract--Stress analysis of a semi-infinite plate with a triangular notch and a crack originating from a triangular notch under transverse bending is carded out. The classical theory for thin plate bending problem is used. The rational mapping function is applied. The obtained solution is exact for the shape represented by the rational mapping function and is of the closed form. Stress distributions and stress intensity factors for some angles of a notch and crack lengths are analytically calculated. The relation between the peisson's ratio and stress distributions or stress intensity factors are investigated. An approximate expression of the stress intensity factor is presented.
