โฆ Synopsis
A crack-damage mechanics model for fiber-reinforced composite laminate is proposed based on the basic theory of continuum damage mechanics. The model considered includes a central through short crack and material damage in the vicinity of the crack tip. The quantitative relation between the crack size and the equivalent crack damage is derived. The expression of the crack energy release rate G associated with the damage energy release rate Y is also obtained. Also, a method for evaluation of the crack energy release rate of tiberreinforced composite laminate has been presented.
