We study the flow of a conducting fluid surrounded by a ferromagnetic solid, under the influence of the hysteretic response of the surrounding medium. We assume that this influence can be represented by the Preisach model and show existence of a solution of the resulting nonlinear system of PDEs in

β¦ Synopsis
We study an MHD system consisting of the stationary Maxwell equations coupled with the transient Navier-Stokes equations. We prove that a solution exists and is unique for small time and small data. We show that the system may become ill-posed as soon as the fluid velocity becomes too large. ~
