✦ Synopsis
This paper uses examples with exact solutions to demonstrate that boundary Bows with 8-node finite elements are more cost effectively calculated by extrapolation from the Barlow points than by direct sampling at the boundary. The boundary flows are used to calculate the mass balance, and the use of the error in this as a measure of solution accuracy is discussed.
