Recently we reported' the oxidation of a compound believed to be 2,2%Xamino-4,4'-dinitrodiphenylmethane2 (I) to m-dinitrobensene and m-nitroaniline. Further studies on this reaction now indicates that the starting materiel was the isomeric h,h\*-bis(3-ni.trophenyl)methylenediamine.
