Abstract

A general and convenient route for the synthesis of dihydropyrimidines bearing the phosphoryl moiety by a one‐pot cyclocondensation involving aldehydes, urea, and O,O‐dialkyl‐2‐oxo‐propanephosphonates, using ytterbium triflate as catalyst, is reported. © 2003 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
