โฆ Synopsis
Abstract
The synthesis of the hitherto unreported 3โaminoโ2,3โdihydroโ6โphenylโ2โthioxoโ4(1__H__)โpyrimidine 2 and 3โaminoโ2โmethylthioโ6โphenylโ4(3__H__)โpyrimidinone 3 is described. Reactions of hydrazonoyl halides 1 with either 2 or 3 afforded 6__H__โpyrimido[1,2โb][1,2,4,5]tetrazinโ6โones 6. The latter products were screened for their antifungal and antibacterial properties. The mechanism of the studied reactions is discussed.

Hydrazonoyl halides 4 react readily with either 3-amino-2,3-dihydro-6-methyl-2-thioxo-4(1H)-pyrimidinone 5 or 3-amino-6-methyl-2-methylthio-4(3H)-pyrimidinone 6 to form 6H-pyrimido [1,2-b][1,2,4,5]tetrazin-6-ones 9. The mechanism of the studied reactions is discussed.
