โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

The synthesis of the hitherto unreported 3โ€aminoโ€2,3โ€dihydroโ€6โ€phenylโ€2โ€thioxoโ€4(1__H__)โ€pyrimidine 2 and 3โ€aminoโ€2โ€methylthioโ€6โ€phenylโ€4(3__H__)โ€pyrimidinone 3 is described. Reactions of hydrazonoyl halides 1 with either 2 or 3 afforded 6__H__โ€pyrimido[1,2โ€b][1,2,4,5]tetrazinโ€6โ€ones 6. The latter products were screened for their antifungal and antibacterial properties. The mechanism of the studied reactions is discussed.
