Abstrac-The use of alternating current for electropolishing of steel and aluminium is investigated. The effect of frequency and waveform on the current eikiency and on the surface roughness for two polishing electrolytes are studied. There exists a frequency range for which a maximum levelling action and lustre are obtained.
