A method is developed for calculating the radiation falling within a simple, single-span glasshouse, as a function of its structural dimensions and the mean radiation characteristics of the glasshouse site. The total of solar radiation received by the floor of the house is assessed by summing the direct and diffuse radiation contributed by each wall and roof surface separately.
