✦ Synopsis
Basic equations for the overpotential build-up and decay transients of the coupled-controlled electrode reaction are presented. The transients were obtained on the basis of these equations by a computer simulation. and results were compared with experiments on the chlorine eleclrode reaction h-om a mechanistic viewpoint. Some characteristics of the overpotential transients obtained by the simulation were investigated analytically after appropriate approximations in order to see the role of the kinetic parameters of the constituent elementary processes.
