✦ Synopsis

An accurate, rapid calculation of Cardiac Output is of great importance during the treatment of critically ill patients. This pap?r describes a complete, self-contained mini-computer system, based on a Data General NOVA 1220 which can accurately sample data and compute the results in about 30 sec. The system uses the thermodilution method with a Swan-Ganz catheter to collect data and a weighted least-squares technique to compute the results.

We have developed a menu-driven computer program (CARDIO), based on a Lotus l-2-3 template and a series of macrocommands, that rapidly and semiautomatically calculates cardiac output from dye or thermal dilution curves. CARD10 works with any dye or thermal dilution recorder with an analog output, an

A FORTRAN computer program written to perform a distribution-free analysis of growth and response curves is described. The underlying statistical methodology is particularly applicable with incomplete observations, and in situations where parametric models for growth may not be appropriate. FORTRAN
