✦ Synopsis
A program is described which carries out optimised stationary beam treatment planning in radiotherapy. The method of optimisation is by score functions and the functions used to relate attributes of a plan to their importance in treatment are given. The optimisation is carried out subject to constraints which are listed. In order to permit a large number of possible plans to be considered, in the optimisation, approximations must be made; to the procedures normally used in computer programs to obtain depth dose data. These approximations are fully described. All other formulae used in the program are given and the input and output for a sample run are presented.
