✦ Synopsis

We describe a program for obtaining esttmates of the rank order of objects in a paired comparison experiment. The prolvam uses Rcmage and Thompson's dynamic programming algorithm [3] to obtain that rank,ng which maximize.~ the likelihood function with the restriction of weak stochastic transitivity.

A computer program has been written which performs a stepwise selection of variables for logistic regression using maximum likelihood estimation. The selection procedure is based on likelihood ratio tests for the coefficients. These tests are used in a forward selection and a backward elimination at

A description and a fisting are made of an APL program for general maximum likelihood estimation based on ad hoc programming of the log-likelihood function and on lqewton-Raphson's iterative procedure using numerical differentiation to obtain first-and second-order derivative.~. The program can also
