A fluorescence microscope based on a laser illumination and controlled by a computer is described. The instrumentation, its connection with the computer, and the developed FOR-TRAN programs are detailed. This semiautomatic system is easy to use and allows a cell-bycell analysis of undisturbed cultur

โฆ Synopsis
The computerization of a laser Raman spectrophotometer is described which permits automated operation of the instrument for signal averaging. The use of an interactivegraphics computer terminal for the rapid reduction of digitized data is discussed and illustrated by the acquisition and analysis of the Raman spectrum from the enzyme, protocatechuate 3,4-dioxygenase.
