✦ Synopsis

A completely laser-based procedure for the production of ÿbre Bragg gratings is demonstrated for the ÿrst time, including laser stripping, laser grating inscription, laser annealing and laser-assisted recoating. High re ectivity, stable gratings for telecommunications applications are produced. Future prospects for laser-based production methods are discussed.
