✦ Synopsis

Aspergillus niger was immobilized by adsorption and entrapment in polyurethane foams and the efficiency of retention capacity, citric acid productivity and the operational stability of a fluidized bed reactor were then compared. The adsorption technique was superior to the entrapment technique, and it was possible to obtain bioparticles capable of keeping their activity for more than 25 days.
