In static posturography, proprioception is o&n disturbed using vibrators applied bilaterally to the calj muscles. 7hr P@? of vibrator amplitude on body sway was compared in static posturography using bilateral vibrators on the culf mutc1e.s OJ 30 healthy male militan conscripts at frequencies of50 and 90 Hz. Po.stural stability was measured in terms I)[ RSV (body sway velocity). and maximal displacements of the centre 01 force (MAXY, MAXXj in /he anierioposterior an-d lateral directions. In comparing the effects of vibration to base stance without vibration, BSI' seemed to be the most sensitive parameter. A vibration of 50 and 90 Hz signaj'icantly influenced BSV values wrth the two most eccentric loads, an effect which rould not be ronjinned using any other parameter. This result could be obtained POPII with a small amplitude (around 0.7 mm free/O.3 mm .Jixed) in our healthy subjects. The BS1' eflects may be even more pronounced in clinical work with patien1.t with postural disorders. An analytical study of the nonlinear vibrations in a three-time redundant portal frame is presented herewith, considering the effect of the axial forces caused by the static loading upon the first anti-symmetrical mode (sway) and the first symmetrical mode natural frequencies. It is seen that the ax
