โœฆ Synopsis

Three rf coil designs of equal volume (approximately 15 ml) were compared using conductive samples. Magnetic loss into the sample was the dominant noise source. At physiological conductivity the sensitivity of the horizontally aligned solenoid and loopgap resonator was only 1.3 * 0.2 times that of the vertically aligned slotted tube resonator.

## Abstract A study was performed to determine whether an implanted, inductively coupled nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) imaging spine coil could provide a significant gain in signalโ€toโ€noise ratio (SNR) on images of the spinal cord relative to the SNR of optimized surface coils. The numerical optimization of a threeโ€channel radiofrequency (RF) coil with a physical aperture for the open, verticalโ€field, MRโ€guided, focused ultrasound surgery (MRgFUS) system using the hybrid method of moment (MoM)/finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is reported. The numerical simulatio
