β¦ Synopsis
The method of momenta estimator, discussed in FIBHEB and YATEE (1@70), for the density of becterie is compared with the maximum likelihood or MPN estimator; For eample sizes used in practice the estimatore are found to be very eimilar. Estimators which reduce bias are discuesed and their use recommended.

The contribution of dissolved salts and/or sediment particles in altering the fluid density cannot be neglected in studying density stratified flows. In this paper equations are presented to evaluate the density of water as a function of temperature, salt content, and sediment load. A nomograph base
